Mother Nature once again smiled on the Michigan State Alumni Club of Greater New York. Bright sunshine, a refreshing breeze, low humidity and moderate temperatures, welcomed those who attended the Club’s annual Family Picnic on Sunday, August 4, 2013 in the Ross Pinetum in Central Park.

Can you help young Spartans in New York this summer?
After a successful 2012, The Academic Internship Council is again helping a select group of MSU students find summer internships in NYC.
These students are looking for opportunities in human services, media, government, fashion, the arts, and journalism in a city that one called “the quintessential work location” in her application essay.

Back in her hometown of New York City, Dr. Denise Maybank shared her first impressions of life outside of Manhattan, a view some would say is widely shared by many New Yorkers: “If it’s beyond Pennsylvania then it’s pretty much irrelevant.”
Even Maybank’s family didn’t quite know where to say she’d gone off to…was it Montana?
