Join New York-area Spartans for a Happy Hour and game watch to kick off the new year on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at SideBAR. Our group has the tasting room reserved, complete with TVs to watch MSU basketball take on Rutgers, with tipoff at 6:30 p.m.
More than 40 alumni and friends saw a tense, fast-paced hockey game on Monday, January 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the New York Islanders, 4-2. The game’s highlight came in the second period when former Spartan star Justin Abdelkader (2005-08) scored the goal which gave the Wings a lead they didn’t relinquish.
Join MSU Alumni and friends for an evening of exciting NHL hockey Monday, January 25, 2016 as the Detroit Red Wings – featuring former Spartan hockey stars Justin Abdelkader (2005-08) and Drew Miller (2003-06) – take on the New York Islanders. The 7:00 p.m. contest is at the Isles’ new Brooklyn home in the Barclays Center which is directly served by nine major subway lines and also conveniently located near the LIRR’s Flatbush Ave terminal.
Spartans are fortunate in ways beyond having a winning season, and ’tis the season to give back! We invite you to bring new or gently used hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, warm socks, etc. to Blondies (212 W. 79th St.) during the football watch party vs. Ohio State on Nov.

Michigan State University’s highly acclaimed Dmitri Berlinsky, violin, and the International Chamber Soloists and University Chorale conducted by David Rayl with Suren Bagratuni, cello, are the featured performers at the upcoming Vivaldi extravaganza – the largest Tuesday Matinee ever presented at Merkin Concert Hall.
Get ready for the Fall 2015 Football season with a Happy Hour at Mercury Bar East. Come network and mingle with other New York Spartans prior to the first game. Mercury will be serving food and drink specials just as they will during game watches.
