Green & White Evening in NYC
Providing Exceptional Experiences
Join fellow Spartans – including faculty and students from MSU’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences – for a Green & White Evening in New York City featuring Mike Sheldon, CEO, Deutsch, North America and Prabu David, Dean, College of Communication Arts and Sciences.
An estimated 200 Spartans and friends gathered at the Brooklyn Marriott Saturday night for a pre-game reception and rally before Michigan State’s victory in the title game of the Coaches versus Cancer tournament at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The event was hosted by the MSU Alumni Association and included a lavish buffet of hors d’oeuvres and pastries.
Last week the MSUAA Executive Director, Scott Westerman, joined our New York Spartans for a Green & White Evening, discussing how he uses social media over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Westerman’s recent viral campaign encouraged alumni to contribute a small donation to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance in response to the “Go Blue” written in the sky over Spartan Stadium during the Youngstown State game.

Back in her hometown of New York City, Dr. Denise Maybank shared her first impressions of life outside of Manhattan, a view some would say is widely shared by many New Yorkers: “If it’s beyond Pennsylvania then it’s pretty much irrelevant.”
Even Maybank’s family didn’t quite know where to say she’d gone off to…was it Montana?
New York City native Dr. Denise Maybank, Interim Vice President of Student Affairs, will meet with MSU Alumni in New York City.
Join us on Wednesday March 21, 2012 in a private room at Ben Benson’s Steak House (123 W. 52nd St.) to learn more about what is going on today at Michigan State University and to network with other local alumni.
