Recap: Spartan Fall Fest 2011
Posted by Larry Alterman | September 12, 2011
Spartan Fall Fest 2011 was held September 9, 2011 at the Heartland Brewery in New York City’s Empire State Building. Spartans ranging in graduation year from 2011 to those who graduated over 50 years ago had the opportunity to meet each other and build upon their common Michigan State experiences. It is quite safe to say that new friendships were born, potential business opportunities were discussed and the greatest city in the world was made a little smaller for everyone who attended.
Spartans from the New York area were joined by former Michigan State Spartan basketball player Tim Bograkos, who was fresh off a guided tour of lower Manhattan.
Guests enjoyed six different beer and food pairings… and certainly took advantage of the all-you-can-eat-and-drink offer. The event also included a raffle, and there were several silent auction items (that somehow were auctioned in a live format) which generated some very spirited bidding. The Spartan Fall Fest helped us to raise money for our endowed scholarship fund which will help Michigan State University attract the best students from our area.
We look forward to seeing you at our Second Annual Spartan Fall Fest in September 2012.
