Pre-Football Tailgate in Central Park

The Arthur Ross Pinetum (just northwest the Great Lawn in Central Park) hosted over 20 Spartans on Saturday afternoon, September 17, ahead of the MSU-Notre Dame game.

The pre-game, makeshift, “tailgate” picnic offered a chance for Spartans (and Spartan supporter friends) in the city to meet up, enjoy some food and beverages, throw around the football and Frisbee, and of course debate the Spartans’ upcoming match against the Irish. An employee o f the Parks Department even got into the spirit, shouting “GO GREEN!” as he drove past. It was perfect weather in the park, plenty of new friends were made, and Alumni Club President Greg Hauser’s dogs showed off their own Spartan gear in style.

The watch party locations were packed for the game, with 50/50 raffles and t-shirt sales supporting the club’s Endowed Scholarship Fund.
