Ohm Youngmisuk

A few Spartan questions for Ohm Youngmisuk:

Q: What was your major at MSU and what year did you graduate?
A: Majored in Journalism and graduated in 1995.

Q: What are you doing now for work?
A: I cover the New York Giants for ESPN New York. Previously was an NBA and NFL writer for the NY Daily News from 1997-2010.

Q: Where do you live?
A: Englewood, N.J.

Q: Favorite NYC restaurant?
A. Oh, wow, so many. I would say my aunt’s Thai restaurant—Bennie’s Thai Cafe near South St. Seaport—because she cooks whatever I want. LOL.

Q: What is best part of living in the NY area?
A: Sports-wise, there is nowhere I rather be outside of East Lansing than in the New York area where there are two of everything.

Q: What is best part of being a Spartan in New York?
A: There’s a special bond between Spartans that only MSU alum can explain. And a ton of my college friends live here which always makes me feel like I’m back in EL. MSU football and basketball are always shown on television here in NYC too which is a MAJOR plus. And because there are so many pro teams in NY-NJ area, I get to talk to several former MSU pro athletes and I also get to talk trash to pros whose alma maters lose to State like Mario Manningham and Braylon Edwards!

Q: If you could invite 3 people from any time who were associated with Michigan State to dinner who would they be?
A: Jud Heathcote because nobody tells stories better than Jud. I’ll go with Magic just over Steve Smith, one of my all-time favorite Spartans, because Magic is the greatest Spartan ever.
