A few Spartan questions for Eric Van Dam:

Q: What was your major at MSU and what year did you graduate?
A: I graduated in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance.

Q: What are you doing now for work?
A: I am a private equity Associate at Vestar Capital Partners.

Q: Where do you live?
A: Flatiron.

Q: Favorite NYC restaurant?
A: There are so many good alternatives to choose from. My favorite Mexican restaurant is Mad Dog & Beans. If you haven’t had their guacamole you have to try it. My favorite Asian restaurant is Kittichai. My favorite steakhouse is a tie between Del Friscos and BLT Prime.

Q: What is best part of living in the NY area?
A: There is always something to do and never a dull moment.

Q: What is best part of being a Spartan in New York?
A: The atmosphere and environment at Mercury Bar or Blondies for an MSU football or basketball game is the next best place to be if you’re not in East Lansing. There is always a great crowd filled with passionate Spartan alumni.

Q: If you could invite 3 people from any time who were associated with Michigan State to dinner who would they be?
A: Magic Johnson, Eli Broad, and Tom Gores would be the three individuals I would choose to go to dinner with. Magic Johnson was one of the most successful athletes to come from Michigan State. Eli Broad and Tom Gores are two of the most successful business entrepreneurs to come from Michigan State.
