2014 Day at the Bronx Zoo
June 21, 2014
Saturday, June 21, 10:00 a.m. until whenever (rain or shine)
Take a tour of the nation’s largest urban zoo, led by a Michigan State trained zoologist. We shall meet at the zoo at opening time, 10:00 a.m. INSIDE the Asia gate (Gate A), and begin with Wild Asia, heading into Africa after that. Join us for as much of rest of the day as you have to spare while we roam through one of New York City’s cultural crown jewels: 6,000 animals of 650 species in 265 acres of park.
We plan to do the Wild Asia Monorail, Jungle World, and the Gorilla Forest ($5 separate admission to each if purchase a general admission ticket). We hope to include stops to see the new Komodo Dragons, the new baby gorillas and the lion cubs, the sea lion feeding at 3:00 and the penguin feeding at 3:30. We’ll find lunch at one of the cafés in the zoo or you can bring your own. The price is merely your own admission to the zoo.
RSVP to Greg Hauser at firstname.lastname@example.org letting him know how many adults, how many children, and the ages of any children. Greg will respond with a blast e-mail providing the details about meeting there, etc. More information about the zoo is at www.bronxzoo.com.
