On Saturday, April 18, 2015 several New York-area Spartans (and some visiting from East Lansing) headed to the Bronx to participate in the annual SPARTANS WILL. POWER – MSU Global Day of Service.
This year’s volunteers did yard work, gardening, painting and more at Bissel Gardens, a community garden.
Regretfully, the MSU Alumni Club of Greater New York’s annual Wine Tasting Dinner event will be taking a break in 2015 as we are currently working to establish our own 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
We very much appreciate your past support of the event and our endowed scholarship fund.
Despite a busy schedule as the recently appointed CEO of Deutsch North America, Michigan State University alumnus Mike Sheldon spent a fun-filled evening in New York City with fellow Spartan alumni, and current MSU faculty members and students.
Sheldon, who graduated from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, was the featured speaker at MSU’s Green & White Evening in New York City, which took place on March 12, 2015 at Deutsch Inc.’s spacious Manhattan office.

Sarah Grossbart and Eric Flores to Raise Funds in Lacey Holsworth’s Honor
At just 8 years old, Lacey Holsworth captivated the country with her larger-than-life smile and unmatched optimism.
And even months after her death, the St. Johns, Mich. girl — who famously befriended former Michigan State forward Adreian Payne and lost her battle with neuroblastoma in April — is still impacting and inspiring others.
On Friday evening, about 35 New York area Spartans kicked off their weekend at our Fall Fest Boat Cruise with Hornblower Cruises, one of New York’s luxury cruise lines.
The boat set sail from Pier 15 at 6 p.m. on Sept. 12, 2014, and attendees quickly made their way to the buffet, where a variety of food such as pasta, chicken wings, cheese, vegetables and dip, beef and other tasty treats, were available.

Not even the threat of rain could keep the Michigan State Alumni Club of Greater New York from gathering in Central Park’s Ross Pinetum for our Annual Spartan Family Picnic. About 40 New York area Spartans gathered under the pines on Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2014, to network and socialize while enjoying sandwiches, salads, Spartan-head cookies, Green and White cupcakes and other delicious treats that were made by participating board members and families.
On Thursday, June 26, 2014, the Big Ten Network threw an exclusive Big Ten Kickoff Party at Cipriani on the east side to welcome Maryland and Rutgers to the Big Ten and to celebrate the B10 expansion to the east coast. Frequent MSUACGNY club volunteers were chosen and attended this festive event, with catered food and drink, held on a large football field carpet with yard line markers, a goalpost, and a few rows of stadium aluminum bench seats.
