MSU Lady Spartans in Iona Tournament

The Lady Spartans participated in the Iona Tournament in New Rochelle, New York during Veteran’s Day Weekend 2011. Thirty NY area Spartans traveled to Iona College to cheer on the team as they faced Villanova in their first game. Some of the players posed with area Spartans and players’ parents after the game.

Pre-Football Tailgate in Central Park

The Arthur Ross Pinetum (just northwest the Great Lawn in Central Park) hosted over 20 Spartans on Saturday afternoon, September 17, ahead of the MSU-Notre Dame game.

The pre-game, makeshift, “tailgate” picnic offered a chance for Spartans (and Spartan supporter friends) in the city to meet up, enjoy some food and beverages, throw around the football and Frisbee, and of course debate the Spartans’ upcoming match against the Irish.
