Kathryn Vetter from Succasunna, NJ is this year’s recipient of the Michigan State University Alumni Club of Greater NY Endowed Scholarship.
Kathryn will be a music education major; she loves to play her clarinet and will be playing in the concert band. On Wednesday, she will take the first step toward a degree as she begins classes at Michigan State.
A few Spartan questions for Jason Johnson:
Q: What was your major at MSU and what year did you graduate?
A: History, 2003
Q: What are you doing now for work?
A: International Tax Attorney. I provide cross-border tax and treasury consultation services to multi-national corporations, broker-dealers/investment bankers and private equity funds.
Over 20 Spartans came out to our tour of Governors Island on Saturday August 20th, 2011. Part of the group included Kathryn Vetter our Endowed Scholarship winner as well as several Spartans who are brand new to NYC (some just graduated in May).
Everyone enjoyed the chance to learn more about NYC as well as the beautiful walk with the magnificent views of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline.
The MSU Alumni Club of Greater NY is looking to YOU for our latest limited-edition Spartan basketball T-shirt design.

“Beneath the pines we gathered” in Central Park’s Ross Pinetum on August 6th, a beautiful Saturday afternoon, for the Annual Spartan Family Picnic.
More than 40 NY area Spartans enjoyed the opportunity to network and socialize while enjoying an over-abundance of delicious picnic fare. The highlight of the afternoon was the opportunity to welcome eight new Spartans of the Class of 2015 to our Spartan Family.
