While Kelly does not live in NY today she counts many Spartan friends here from her time in NYC on a internship. Kelly became quite involved in everything Michigan State while in NYC and after she graduates in May she hopes to come back.

Billions of years of the earth and mankind’s evolution was covered by Club President Greg Hauser at the American Museum of Natural History. Over 15 Spartans attended (including at least one neanderthal) and all left with quite a bit more knowledge about evolution, as well as a reminder of why we are lucky to live in the New York area with a world famous treasure like the American Museum of Natural History.

In honor of Presidents’ Day, this week’s NY Area Spartan of the week is our own fine President Greg Hauser. Greg has been the President of the MSU Alumni Club of Greater NY for 9 of the last 10 years and with his leadership has helped to form a strong club to serve the local alumni and Michigan State University.

A few Spartan questions for Lyle Leonard:

Q: What was your major at MSU and what year did you graduate?
A: My major was Packaging from the School of Packaging at MSU. I graduated in 1974.

Q: What are you doing now for work?
A: I worked for 10 years in New York city as Senior Vice President of Packaging Development for a global cosmetics and fragrance company.
